Chilling Out In Mal Pais on 19/11/09

Mal Pais is a small coastal village on the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula that is becoming one of Costa Rica's most popular destinations.  The beach is also located just 4 km north of Cabo Blanco National Park, an excellent spot for trekking and wildlife viewing.

The beach at Mal Pais is somewhat rocky but with plenty of sandy areas and is full of beautiful shells. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful sunny days without the big crowds you might find on other Costa Rican beaches.  Plus, Mal Pais is just a few miles south of one of the country's top surfing spots, Playa Santa Teresa.

Mal Pais has excellent weather year-round and lots of comfortable, quality accommodations.  You can also find several nice bars and restaurants in town with lovely ocean views. Most of all the best thing about Mal Pais is spending your days catching some rays and enjoying the beautiful beach.

To get to Mal Pais you can take a ferry to Paquera or Playa Naranjo and then drive or taxi the rest of the way. You can also fly into Tambor and get into Mal Pais by rental car or taxi.
