Casa de la Gringa is a bright, colorful hostel with a laid-back atmosphere and a garden area filled with tons of plants. The decor is funky and eclectic with cozy places to relax; in the common room you will find TV, music and pool table.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and also really accommodating and laid-back. I only stayed for one brief night, but would have loved to stay longer. It is a really cute place and has a lot of details that I appreciated: tea, kitchen, awesome decoration, nice hot water, friendly staff and guests, books for guest use in different languages, etc. It had an overall nice and tranquil atmosphere, and was in a good location.

The rooms vary a lot, the first few nights we spent here we had a beautiful loft bedroom, but on our return we were given a room in a separate building with no window which was quite noisy. As is to be expected in South America hot water is sporadic, which doesnŽt bother me...but donŽt pretend that you do have good hot water!! Location is excellent though, San Blas is the place to be in Cuzco! I would stay here again, but I would want a loft bedroom!

The staff is especially kind. However, when I was there, San Blas lost it's water for one day...Otherwise, in my opinion, it's better to have a room at the back of Casa de la Gringa because itŽs quieterand be warned the very hot showers are too hot! It's burn or freeze! Also, the Annex is freezing, but the beds are good and have at least 4 blankets each!
