Linda casa, ubicacion buena pero lamentablemente falta mantencion, limpieza y preocupacion hacia los huespedes, todo sucio, desayuno deficiente, en definitiva no recomendable por el momento.

This hostel was dissappointing. We stayed in "The suit" which unfortunately isn't great. Although there was a private ensuite it was dirty and we mostly did not have hot water. The breakfast is basic and there is pretty much no socializing to be done. I would also recommend other areas to stay in BA as there isn't very much to do around here after dark.

I was very unimpressed that the staff left the front desk unattended. I needed to leave the hostel at 7:30AM to catch an early flight from the airport. The staff was nowhere to be found. I tried ringing the bell five times and waited about 15 minutes for her to show up before I had to leave. I was unable to get my key deposit back of AR$20. I should have just stolen the key I guess to have something of value for my 20 pesos.

I really liked the location and most staff members. I had a situation with the hostel which I didn´t like the way they handled it. They needed the room I was staying in and took all my belongings out without my permission. They didnt show any respect towards me. They left everything out in the reception, didnt care about putting in a bag nor my empty backpack. When i first got there, the room i was supposed to share was locked and I waited for the person who was in to come back and unlock it. And two days later, when i walked in the hostel, I saw all my stuff thrown out of the bedroom as a trash, everything was spread out. They should have handled this situation more professionally respecting all the sides. I hope they learned their lesson. I would go back there for the location and for some people who hang out there, only.

Rayuela was fine, but it didn't offer us anything to distinguish it. The staff were moderately helpful, though gave us wrong directions in the city. All in all, my only substantive complaint is that, compared to hostels elsewhere in Latin America, it wasn't worth the price (but I don't know the rates at other Buenos Aires hostels, so it might not be overpriced for the city).

Location: the location is the best quality of this hostel. One can walk from the hostel to the city center and to San Telmo. The distance to 9 de Julio avenue is only two blocks, and there is a Subte station 150 meters from the hostel´s entrance. The bus connections were good, too. Bedroom: We stayed in a private ensuite (the blue one). There were some problems: the double bed had a canoe-shaped matress that made sleeping a difficult task; we had to put two single matresses on it in order to be able to sleep. In terms of light and ventilation, the bedroom was also not good, and the humidity was a little annoying. The room had an air conditioning that we didn't test. The bathroom was not well cleaned when we arrived, but it was OK. The positive points were the shower (really good; a lot of hot water during day or night), and the fact that the hostel lent us bed linnen and towels free of charge. And the bedroom had a big wardrobe that fit quite well our luggage. Breakfast: media lunas (suprisingly good ones!) + coffee and milk + corn flakes. It was quite good in terms of quality, but they started serving it absurdly late (between 9:30 and 10 am). We had to choose between having breakfast at the hostel or enjoying the morning in the city. Socialization: the hostel does have some nice public spaces (two kitchens that can be used by the guests, living rooms -one of them with pool table-, a terrace, free internet..), and the night staff (manly León) is friendly and easy-going. Few guests were staying at the hostel when we were there, however (which was good for us; we usually prefer a quiet atmosphere). In general, it was no more than OK.

We were surprised that they had problems with our reservation, so we had to wait till 3pm. The hostel isnŽt clean, in particular the bathroom and toiletts. One morning we had to prepare our breakfast by ourselfs because nobody from the staff was there, this could happen, but nobody says anything.

LOVED staying here, the staff were super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs and is very good. Great location, funky hostel with good common areas and well equipped kitchen, nice and close to the subte. A little difficult to find as there is no sign in the door you press a buzzer and they let you up. Some problems during my stay including wifi crashing and a power cut but still enjoyed my stay manta due to the friendly staff:)

Bien situado.

The staff were really friendly here. The first time we stayed our room was clean and it was quiet. When we came back after our travels, we had a room sharing a bathroom. The shared bathroom was not particularly clean , and the hostel was really noisy- other guests were having a party outside our door at 2am. Fine if that is what you want , but we didn't. So your experience may depend on who else is in the hostel

I went with my boyfriend for a weekend, anjd we really liked it! Its a really nicely put hostel, near an Avenue, trains and buses in a 4 block radio took un everywhere. Plus they care about every guests wellbeing: while they are playing guitars in the common room, every other door is closed so that in the bedrooms there is enough silence for early sleepers.

Rayuela was the best hostel on my trip around South America. It is located close to two subway stops and has a very cozy atmosphere. Christian, the owner was awesome and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. He was also great at explaining directions and bus stops. The only complaint is that there were only two showers, but the hostel is small so it wasn't a big problem. Don't book this on minihostels, as they didn't actually let the hostels that I booked on mh know that I was coming. Rayuela was awesome. Minihostels, not so much.

Overall, this hostel is a great value- with a staff that really takes care of everyone. Regardless of the request, they always delivered. It is very small, which could be good or bad depending on the company. For a hostel in a central, convenient location, it can't be beat.

ItŽs a nice place with lots of potential. Unfortunately, the bathrooms could have been cleaner and some fresh air would be awesome. The rooms have no windows and itŽs a bit hard to breathe in there. Breakfast was only croissants without anything else and they were gone quite quickly. One of the best kitchens IŽve seen so far, though. Staff seemed pretty bored and not very helpful. There were hardly any people there and it was not a social place at all. ItŽs a shame especially since the hostel itsself is really nice. ItŽs not a bad hostel, though. ItŽs just that, especially in BA, we expected sth different...

All told, was a rather average hostel for us. I think this particular hostel's appeal fluctuates a lot with the types of guests that are staying there. The staff were sometimes attentive, but first priced us up without the Minihostel discount before I pointed it out and then we got the 10% off... Breakfast did have the good croissants, sometimes - same goes for the bread. Coffee is there all the time. The kitchens was fully equipped and the highlight of the hostel, but I guess the mediocre vibe that we got was a combination of this hostel having a perfect rating and expecting too much and it losing a bit of its luster after having been open for a bit over a year now. The bathrooms are beginning to show some wear, like the toilet seat that is no longer attached to the toilet and the roof in the common area that leaks when it rains hard. Some work could be done in terms of customer handling to help restore that perfect rating in our eyes.

Very nice hostel, smartly furnished, good big lounge at the front, well-equipped kitchen, free internet, very helpful staff. It only sleeps a total of 18 or so, which makes it sociable. Close to metro, Santelmo and microcentro, in a good neighbourhood, shops, bars and restaurants nearby. A minor drawback was the layout, with all rooms placed around the dining area, which gave some noise; the only real point of improvement was the state of the two shared toilet/showers, which had old fittings and were not very clean. Overall a very nice place though, warmly recommended.

I stayed at Rayela hostel from the 15th-25th of January.I have only good words about this hostel. The staff are extreamly friendly and the athmosphere is extreamly relaxed and layed back. Top value for money in my opinion and I will give them 5 stars in all categories. For the girls in the reception a bit more work on their english like Christian the owner said this to tease them slightly but they are really sweet and helpfull. So all in all an excellent hostel.

Fantastic hostel, easily our favourite one in South America so far! The owners/staff are brilliant, very helpful and friendly. There's a great atmosphere - it's very laid back, easy to talk to other guests too as it's quite small. It really felt like home for our 6 nights there, due to the nice character of the place and the great kitchen, all well as everything else. The location is great for getting around the city as it's close to a few different Subte stations, and the heart of San Telmo is within easy walking distance. I can't say enough good things about Reyuela, just do yourself a favour and stay here. Gracias por todo guys!

The Rayuela Hostel is one of the best hostels we stayed at during our 4 weeks journey through Patagonia. The Hostel is the cleaniest we experienced and the staff lets you feel as a friend and not only as a guest. The coffee they serve for breakfast is better than in a few cafes! After our first days in Buenos Aires we left for touring Patagonia and decided to stay at Rayuela Hostel again at the end of our trip to spend our last night in Argentina. There are very good reasons why this is rated one of the best hostels in South America: amazingly friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, amazing location, pool table, fusball table, Christian will have a jam on the guitar with you, Fernando will order you amazing sushi or cook you amazing steak, Alicia will help you out if you need dreadlocks!! Every possible aspect of your stay will be incredible! Promise.

The staff is always ready to advise you about things to do, they are always helpful and in a good mood, Fernando, Joana, Christian and Alicia are great, besides that, I liked the way they made a division at the hostel, Sky and Earth, Sky is the place to rest, where everything is quiet and peaceful, and Earth is the place to have fun, watch TV, listen to music, play pool. Breakfast could be better, they got "medialuna" everyday, milk, coffee, chocolate, if they add some simple things like fruits, cheese, ham, etc, it's gonna be perfect. Fernanado, take care with this foot!! hehe

Great hostel! The staff was extremely friendly, good location near downtown BA, very close to metro stops. Lots of sight and things to do near the hostel within walking distance or from the metro. The kitchen is very clean and which was a huge plus for me. If you are looking for a nice, clean and safe place to stay with a friendly staff, this is the place for you.

Every traveler has a different idea of what a great hostel is. I have been to over 1,000 hostels over the past couple of years, and the main determining factor of a great hostel, in my opinion, are the owners, managers, and employees of the hostel. Of course I try to spend as little as possible on accommodation, I appreciate hostels that are safe with lockers to secure my belongings, and I tend to stay more time in hostels that are clean. However, all of these factors don't add up to making a hostels "great." The people who run Rayuela, Cristian, Alicia, Fer, and the rest truly make your time in their hostel priceless. You can pay hundreds of dollars for a 5 star hotel, but you cannot pay for the generosity, good vibes, and friendships that Rayuela offers. Also, they have a very clean, safe, and fair priced hostel. If you're looking for 100's of inebriated travelers, don't stay here.

If you are a traveller that appreciates a nice shared kitchen, Rayuela will not disappoint! Everything is new and really clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. Stove and oven worked flawlessly and the fridge is big with plenty of room for your things. Comfy common areas too, pool table and terrace for chill times. Love this hostel!

If you want a personal hostel experience, this is the place to be! Rayuela is run by the owners and they are always happy to chat with their guests, share mate, have a drink...they are just cool people! At least once a week they have an asado or homemade pizza night...donŽt miss out!

Rayuela has an excellent location in San Telmo, blocks from the centro, obelisco, Puerto Madero, subte, and busses. ItŽs a neighborhood full of history and culture and endless opportunities for exploration. The Moreno station on the C Line is just one block away from the front door.

I just canŽt say enough good things about Rayuela! I have never felt so truly welcomed in a hostel and I really did feel at home. My plan was to stay for 3 nights and I ended up staying 2 weeks! The hostel is gorgeous, everything is new and clean, and the atmosphere is so positive and friendly, you will never want to leave. Alicia and Christian are the best!

Rayuela hostel was an unforgetable part of our one month visit in Argentina. The hostel is located in the nice area San Thelmo close to everything you need. But the main beholding was the staff of the hostel whom were extremely helpful and made our stay in BsAs to something realy speciall. We strongly recomend this hostel! Elina and Andreas from Sweden.
